Bear Hugs Outreach is committed to serving and spreading love to the community, with a special focus on the elderly.

 

Bear Hugs Outreach started in 2010 following a personal experience of our founder being in the hospital during the holiday season. A bear was given to her during this difficult time, and it brought an instant feeling of comfort and love. She wanted to spread that source of love and care to others. This movement started in 2010 by going to hospitals, and one year we were shown the need for this love and care at the local retirement homes, and that impacted our hearts immensely and clarified the direction for Bear Hugs Outreach. 

 

When we visit the retirement homes, not only do we spend quality time, but we also gift the residents with warm gifts like teddy bears, cookies, and flowers. The impact that we have by such a simple loving gesture means the world to them, as most of them are separated from their families and seek to feel that source of love and care.
